1) What kind of perspective does Sioux Smith have of her peers in high school? Do you believe this is the case in other high schools?
2) Do you think popularity matters in high school? Does it matter to you?
3) What could you do to stop bullying or harassment in your high school?
4) In the book Sioux is always smoking. Why are things like cigarettes or drugs so easily accessible to kids? How do you suppose we make it inaccessible?
5) What message was the author of this book trying to get across?
6) Do you think euthanasia should be provided at hospitals?
7) There is a lot of talk about elder abuse in communities. Why does this happen? How do you suggest we stop this?
8) What causes some teens to think about suicide? Does this have anything to do with school?
9) Do you think it was okay for Mabel to be left all by herself that apartment?
10) Is it okay for a person like Chocko to teach teens when he has tons of pictures of naked girls glued to his walls at his home?
1) I think she believes that all of the kids in her school are trying to be cool and she thinks of all the groups you see on TV like the jocks and the nerds are all just foolish and she is the only one that can see past everything. I believe this is the case in most high schools because we do see a lot of cliques and other groups like the Tamil group in McGivney or the black group. I do think all high schools have groups like these because you can see the froups at every high school you walk in to.
ReplyDelete2) No it doesn't matter because we are at school to learn and further our education so we can get a good job . Education is our main goal, so we can succeed in our life. Popularity only lasts for a while, but knowledge is more valuable and lasts forever.
Your blog is very creative and the background design looks amazing. It is really easy to understand what your book is about and how Sioux struggles and finds a friend who she can really talk to. I like the information you provided. Overall your blog is very well done..
3) We could raise awareness in our schools by having assemblies or having a week of the year which focuses on the types of bullying and prevention.
ReplyDelete4) Drugs are easily accessible because kids can buy things like cigarettes and alcohol in the stores. We can stop this by making the stores have stricter policies on selling cigarettes only to adults and people between 18 and above have to show identification.
I like how your blog is organized and how the background looks. You have put a lot of effort into your work. I learned a lot about your book and your blog kept me interested.
